Yes & Therapy is a response to the need for kids, adolescents, young adults, and families to feel more connected to others and more capable of stepping into a new, unfamiliar, and exciting way of being.  When we respond with “yes” we validate the speaker’s experience or perspective, offering the possibility of increasing connection.  When that “yes” is followed by an “and,” we build upon their perspective or introduce a new idea.  Allowing ourselves to model vulnerability and curiosity—by adopting a constructive mindset we can short-circuit resistance and engage others at a level that allows for true, meaningful growth.

Yes & is a mindset that challenges us to find the potential in ourselves and each other, to accept it, and to build upon it. It emerges from the belief that if we’re to thrive, we need to be flexible, creative, and compassionate. We have to be brave enough to consider the world through the lens of someone else’s experience.

It’s tough & worthwhile.  It’s serious & very silly.  It can be a long process & there can be quick, meaningful accomplishments along the way.

So what would I recommend for kids, adolescents, young adults, and families looking to navigate a challenge; find deeper connection with others or themselves; navigate a transition; plan for the future; or respond to any number of moments in life that might be made more manageable through some reflection, support, or meaningful self care?

Talk with a friend? Commune with nature? Run fast and lift heavy things? Listen to music? Drink good coffee? See how many marshmallows you can fit in your mouth at once? Journal?

Yes-Yes-Yes-Yes-Yes-Okay, Sure-& Yes.

Yes to all of that

Yes & Therapy.
